U By Kotex Click Regular Tampons Review

UByKotex Click Regular Tampons

  • Small size with big protection
  • PerfectTouch Grip for “just right” placement
  • Smooth tip and slim for easy and comfortable insertion
Absorbency

The regular tampon is meant to absorb 6 to 9 grams of fluid and works well with fast flows. If you have a fast flow, try this tampon because it absorbs immediately and expands evenly all around to fit your shape. Think of it as a custom fit for custom leak proof protection.

Comfort
These tampons are really compact and convenient to carry. They’re also super cute and I didn’t feel like this was something I wanted to hide. It’s always nice to have something colourful and cute perk to up my day when I’m PMSing.

The applicator is super fun and easy to use. My fingers are small so I didn’t find the grip too small for me but I can imagine that some people would prefer a longer grip. The applicator tip is rounded and the sides are smooth and stay the same width throughout the barrel so you barely feel it during insertion.

Though not advertised, the tampon appears to have a veil over the it which is a good thing! Veils act as a guard to prevent shedding of the tampon fibres

Sport & Active Wear

I went for a run with this tampon in and didn’t experience any leaks. I had a fast flow too. The all around expanding really worked for me to prevent leaks.

Recommend for: Regular flow, Sport & Active wear
Not recommend for: Lighter flows, always use the lowest absorbency needed for your flow

Applicator
The applicator is super cool! It is compact and clicks into its full applicator when you pull out the plunger. You can actually hear the click so that’s when you know the plunger is full extended and ready for insertion.

The barrel is slim and is the same thickness throughout so you barely fell it when it slides in. The grip has U By Kotex’s cute swirly design on it and is quite small. I can only use two fingers to hold it. The middle part is clear so you can see the string when the plunger clicks into place.

Packaging

The tampons come packaged in three super fun and bright colours and also feature an easy tear opening. The packaging also makes it easy for me to slip my used applicator back into the wrapper for disposal.

U By Kotex Regular Click applicator measures:
Tip diameter: 1.2cm
Applicator length: 7.8cm when compact, 11.4cm when extended to full size
Plunger length: 5.0cm

U By Kotex Regular Tampon measures:
Tampon: 4.5cm
String: 15.0cm

  1. These are the worst tampons. I thought a tampon is a tampon is a tampon. Wrong! Not absorbent. Was ice skating today and had a massive leak. Tampon did not expand. Wtf. Also string is so thin, not giving me a confident feeling it will come out without breaking. Lastly, WHY are the sizes not color coded?!? With every other makes, even target store brand, it’s like this: purple is light flow, yellow is regular, green is super. This stupid brand makes every size in every color but with a tiny R or S on the wrapper. Just stupid. No wonder these stupid things were marked down so cheap. You get what you pay for certainly is true in this case.

  2. Didn’t see this review before posting my previous question… sorry! Would you recommend the Kotex Sleek, Kotex Click, or Playtex Sport for someone that needs to be active and can’t risk a leak? I’m in my 20s but haven’t used a tampon before.

    • Hi Simi,

Since you need to be active, I would suggest you try Playtex Sport but to be honest, I would say try both ;) and see what works best for you ;)!

      • I’m conflicted on what under-wear to use now. A thong would be most comfortable, but I’m wondering if thong pantyliners cover enough surface (if that makes sense). Would you suggest I wear boy-shorts type underwear with a liner, or would a thong liner be just as good? I worry that if I wear a thong+liner the period might “miss” it if that makes sense.

        • Hi Simi,

That’s a good question! I think it really depends. If you have a heavy flow and leak often, then I would not suggest you go for the thong and pantyliner combo. I usually just go for regular panties and panty liner when I wear tampons :). If you don’t experience leaks often and you think a thong an panty liner will work then you are very lucky!

          • Thank you so much for the fast replies! I used a tampon for the first time, and omg what a life-changer! I can’t believe I put it off for so long! Your website instructions were very useful and both the Kotex and Playtex tampons worked great. I used regular underwear the first day and had no leaks, so I used a thong the next day with no problems!

This makes running so much easier too. Using pads when you need to workout is quite annoying. Thanks so much! This is a great site :D

          • Yay! So glad I could help Simi!!!

  3. Why does tampon cause TSS

Does it affect my mood swings
    Behaviour
    And
    My
    Period

  4. I had the scariest thing happen to me yesterday. I had a tampon in for maybe an hour and when I get to change it I COULD NOT get it out! After about 45 mins of freaking out I finally got it to come out. Needless to say I threw the whole box away! That has never happened before and scared me almost to death.

  5. Packaging issues. Major annoyance. I purchased a multi-pack of Super and Regular Kotex U’s, and both sizes are wrapped in ALL 3 COLORS! So annoying…I do not care to or have time to sift through the box. Kotex just lost my business.

  6. I actually heard these have a habit of leaving fibers behind? Idk how true it is and I wondered what you thought.

    • Hi Shanice,

Thanks so much for your comment. Shedding is a possibility with most tampons especially if they do not have a “security veil” over them. I have heard of shedding rumours before however there have been very few reported cases of tampon shedding actually being a health risk. (In fact, I have really only heard about one case.) If you are concerned about shedding, I would recommend using a menstrual cup instead and to speak with your gynaecologist.

      xoxo,
      -Dedy
