Playtex Sport Pad Review

When I heard that Playtex had recently released pads that were JUST like my all-time favorite Stayfree pads, I just had to try them!

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was that there was… another one! The pads were packaged in more packaging – a sealed bag… wait so does this mean this pad is packaged 3 times?! (the box–>plastic bag–>individually wrapped). That’s a lot for such a small product!

Here’s another way to look at it: Now you can choose to store your pads in the bag or the box :) And it is much more convenient to throw a bag of pads in the my purse than a cardboard box.

So does this pad match up to the Stayfree pad?

YES! It does! If you’re a fan of the Stayfree pad, you will really like the Playtex pads.

They both have cotton soft like covers with quick absorption, comfortable dry wear, and are super thin – perfect for sport wear.

It makes me question if they are made by the same manufacturer and then just packaged differently by the companies. The only difference I can point out is that the Playtex ones come in more typical sizing whereas the Stayfree ones come in a wider variety of sizes from mini size to overnight pads with a wider bum.

There are also creases in the pad to help it flex with your body’s natural curves and I found that this really helped with preventing leaks. It didn’t create folds or pockets that caused leaks – something that I experience with other pads.

Regular Playtex Sport pads measure 23.5cm by 10.3 – 8.5cm and are 0.1cm thin.

Its very shocking to know about sanitary pads. Thank you for letting us know about this.

  2. Hi! I just switched from tampons to Always Infinity Flex Foam pads and I like them but they are TOOOO long for me. Are the Playtex Sports pads shorter than the Always Infinity Regular Flex foam pads?

  3. Hi, I have a few questions. I currently use Alwayd Radiant Flex Foam and was wondering if it was the same thing as Always Infinity? I heard that they were the exact same thing, except the Always Infinity were cheaper. Also, whenever I wear it with loose clothing such as my pajamas, it makes really loud noises. If I wear more fitting underwear, it helps, but it still makes noise. Does the Playtex ones do that? I am in track and I have to wear loose running pants and I’m afraid it will make noise since my friend and I run together and its embarrassing. Also, are the Playtex ones thin like the Infinity? Which is more comfortable and which would you recommended for sports (both if you like them both).

  4. Hello! I have a question; do you think these are would work for horse riding? Before you get on the horse, you must first get them ready, which mainly requires walking around and fetching the saddle, bridal, saddle pad, girth, martingale (if he horse has to use one. It helps with the position of their mouth and neck to help them except the bit) and you also have to bend down a lot. Don’t think the pad will have much trouble with that.
The riding is what concerns me.
In horse riding, we climb on a horse, stick our butts to the saddle best we can, and move. We plant ourselves in the saddle as we sweat and the saddle moves with the horse, meaning we must too, and that means I would be rubbing the pad between me, 86 pounds, and the hard leather saddle. I canter and jump, so there is rubbing and banging in the saddle and so I doubt that this pad could handle it. Do you think it might? Yes, I have tampons and have worn them twice, but I really don’t want to be useing them unless I have to.
    Thank you!

  5. What was your old favorite pad?

What makes this pad so much better than your old favorite pad?

    Thanks :)

    • Hi Erin!

Great questions! My favorite pads are: Always Infinity, Stayfree pads, and now to add to my list: Playtex Sport pads!

These pads perform just as well as the Stayfree pads but I find that the Playtex brand is more widely available and easier to find. They also come in more typical sizes: regular, heavy, overnight whereas the Stayfree ones offer more unique sizes: their light mini pad, and overnight wide pad.
