PACKAGING
U By Kotex Barely There liners come in a black box and the liners are very neatly packed in there.
Pantiliners are individually wrapped with a paper backing in colourful plastic wrapping with a small strip of glue adhesive. The paper backing may seem a bit excessive but because the adhesive is so strong, the paper backing is needed (some pads stick directly onto the plastic wrapping).
The small strip of glue is not strong enough to be reused to discard your pantiliner but you can peel back the paper backing and use the adhesive residue from that. I show you this neat trick here :).
When wrapped, it measures 8.0cm by 6.1cm and is 0.2cm thin.
When unwrapped, it measures 15.1cm by 5.0 - 5.7cm and is 0.1cm thin.
ABSORBANCY
The liner has light absorbancy and is meant for daily wear, spotting, or as a tampon back up. The protection is very light and but still suitable for heavy discharge days.
Only the white part of the liner is absorbent, the sheer sides are not.
When the liner absorbs discharge, the purple swirly design gets a bit darker as do most things that get wet. The design also has really light purple specks that at first glance you don't notice but when my liner absorbed discharge they became noticable....and I freaked out when I saw these specks cause I thought my discharge had specks =[ !!! Way to troll me!!!
BREATHABILITY
The pantiliner is unscented and the breathability of this product is good. I feel dry and clean when using them even after a full day wear.
ADHESIVE
So far I have found that all the adhesive on U By Kotex products to be excellent. It sticks super well and sometimes I have to pry it off my panties. The sides also hold well on thongs and keep it in place all day.
The liner has a small part in the front with no adhesive to help you peel it off the paper backing.
U By Kotex also has a fun demo showing how to put them on a variety of panty styles.
You can see their U By Kotex Barely There Liners demo here.
WEAR TEST
The liner was very breathable and adhesive is great but the U By Kotex Barely There Liners have got to be one of the most uncomfortable liners ever. The liner is advertised as so comfortable you'll barely notice its there. Even though they are extremely thin and very flexible, it is very noticable because all I can feel is the cover of this liner scraping against my skin. The sheer sides feel very rough on my delicate lady parts especially when I am walking and the sides brush against my skin. The product actually performs well, great adhesive, absorbency and breathability but the cover is quite rough and is very irritating against my skin.
As a tampon backup: Recommended
On a light period day: Recommended
Everyday wear: Perfect for light or heavy discharge
SUMMARY
U By Kotex Barely There Liners have great breathability, flexibility and its sheer flexible sides mean they can fit a variety of panty styles. The are great for light absorbency and also great for heavy discharge day. However the liners are not barely there and definitely noticable when worn. The cover feels quite rough and is very irritating against my lady parts especially when I am walking and the sides of the liner brush up against my skin.

i HATE these, the breathability SUCKS
ReplyDeletereally?? yikes! i found that they worked pretty well!
ReplyDeleteThese are my new favorite liners. I use them when I think I may start, as tampon back up and of course near the end. I have even used them successfully with frequent change when I had no other options! I noticed when they absorb they have something similar to what is in a baby diaper which turns jelly like which is nice because it stays where it should :) I never really paid much mind to breathabillity.....except the one time I got dry weave WTH is that supposed to be a joke!? terrible itch and sticky sweaty rashy experience.
ReplyDeleteI just bought these. But i think i need a more stronger, but othe than that i loved them.
ReplyDeleteI love Barely there product, very soft and comfortable, fits great, and is invisible under my clothes.
